The Monarch Faces Heckling Regarding Prince Andrew's Epstein Links

During a engagement to Lichfield Cathedral on the start of the week, the King was shouted at by a protester who questioned him about Prince Andrew's links with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The protester asked how long the monarch had been known about his sibling's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and also questioned whether he had instructed the authorities to "conceal" for Andrew.

Amid the heckling, there were crowds of fans and applause for the monarch, who was visiting the region for an ceremony.

Prince Andrew's links with Jeffrey Epstein have been under renewed focus in the past few weeks. The royal, who gave up his titles earlier this month, has repeatedly denied any misconduct.

"For how long have you known about Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein? Did you request the police to cover up for him?"

The King remained silent but continued meeting supporters, some of whom shouted "God Save The King". One fan can be overheard asking him for a hug.

Another woman outside the cathedral was also observed telling the heckler to "leave" and to "be quiet".

Controversy Revived by Memoir

The scandal over Prince Andrew's connections to Jeffrey Epstein has been reignited by sexual abuse claims repeated in Virginia Giuffre's posthumously-published memoir.

In the memoir, the accuser says she had sexual encounters with the prince on three separate occasions, including once with Jeffrey Epstein and "eight other young girls"

Andrew, who agreed to a out-of-court agreement with Ms Giuffre in 2022, has repeatedly denied any misconduct. In 2019, he told BBC Newsnight he did not recall meeting her "ever", and that they "never had any sort of intimate relations."

Fresh Questions Over Finances and Living Arrangements

But recently, new inquiries have been asked about how he is able to fund his way of life despite not being a working royal.

The revelation that he has only ever paid a nominal fee on his Windsor mansion has heightened the scrutiny over his housing situation - even though he made large payments up front, including for renovations.

The Liberal Democrats said he should be summoned before members of parliament to give testimony about his rental agreement of his residence.

But last week, the authorities declined to give MPs time to discuss the royal's titles or his home, despite growing pressure for scrutiny.

Buckingham Palace has not commented on whether Prince Andrew might relocate of his current residence - or where he might go.
